I feel extremely fortunate to have found AXIS Architecture and Amy Bell for Mesa Labs’ 100,000 sq ft project in Bozeman, Montana.  Amy’s dedication to the project, meticulous design and vigilant efforts helped make a monumental undertaking seem manageable.  Throughout the entire project, Amy always had my budget in mind; she clearly wanted to design and deliver a beautiful structure which Mesa could be proud of, but never lost sight of the project budget.  Countless times Amy would review the plans and come up with minor changes that would result in significant savings.  A large part of the success of this project can be directly attributed to Amy and her devotion.

The construction of the business office and showroom was the first building project we had undertaken.  It was our good fortune to have Amy along to guide us through the process.  From initial design concepts to final construction details Amy helped keep our project moving smoothly.  We ended up with the building we dreamed of, on schedule and, just as importantly, on budget.

As a client of Amy Bell and Axis Architecture you can be confident your vision and priorities will be her primary concern.

Native Landscapes, Client

My wife and I had an idea about what we wanted our Montana home to look like.  Amy realized our concept and made suggestions to enhance the look and function of the space. Amy’s understanding of all structural aspects was very helpful. She was always available to take our calls and answer our questions, and worked with us right to the end. We couldn’t be happier with the outcome. We have and would highly recommend Amy.

The Stinchcombe’s, Client

Given the rare prospect of building a new home on a vacant lot in an historical neighborhood, my husband and I had the opportunity to collaborate with Amy Bell/AXIS Architecture on our home/business/bed and breakfast in Livingston, Montana. In addition to constraints placed on us by our budget, we were also dedicated to constructing a “forever home” that would serve as our business, complement the neighborhood, grow with us, maximize efficiency and technology and accommodate a long list of “must haves” that we thought might be out of reach. Amy was able to work alongside us and steer our project in a direction that resulted in a cohesive, polished structure with the capability to evolve and grow as time and money permits. During our first meeting, we came to the table with concepts and designs aplenty… the accumulation of years of thinking, planning and dreaming. Amy was able to sift through our list of ideas and details and put them together in a way that told a story that was beautifully unified. I remember the first set of elevations coming to us via email and the delight I felt… thinking… “THAT could be our home”.  After a year of construction, we took up residence during the spring of 2015, and I get that same feeling every time I walk through the door.

This was our first adventure in building a structure of this size (6,000+ square feet). It felt daunting at times. Fortunately, we made the decision in the beginning to work with an architect that would bring experience to the table. We learned volumes throughout the process of construction. One of the most important: a good architect will pay for herself.
